Whilst boats are fun, the sea and K8 must be treated with respect. To this end K8 is fitted with the most modern safety equipment. The boat is built to MCA cat 2. The safety equipment on board consists of:

• Individual self inflating lifejackets
• Harnesses
• Lifebuoys, lights and danbuoy.
• 2 Eight Man Liferafts and grab bags
• Flares

• VHF radio
• SSB radio
• Fleet 33 telephone.
• Man-over-board positioning systems and alarms.
• There is also an individual necklace which if you should fall over
• the side makes your position accurately so that you can be
• picked up – not that any one has ever fallen over the side.
• The skipper will carry out a comprehensive safety briefing when
• you are settled aboard.
